Rashmi Jadhav

Hey there!

I'm Rashmi, a master's student majoring in Computer Science at Oregon State University, Corvallis, OR, US. As part of my thesis, I have been researching under the guidance of Prof. Arash Termehchy at the IDEA Lab since January 2020. My current research involves optimization of the online join algorithms to give faster top-k retrievals against a user's query.

Previously, I worked as a Software Engineer at eQ Technologic India Pvt. Ltd., Pune, India for three years. At eQ, I worked with a wide range of projects including agile software product development, website development, Android application development, customer-centric projects, and development with legacy systems.

Lean2Lead Pune - Women with Will to Lead

Founding Member

August 2015 - Present

During my undergraduate education, I came across a book Lean In by Sheryl Sandberg, the COO at Facebook. This book had a huge impact on me as it empowers women to sit at the table and take on those leadership roles. Through the Lean In Foundation, I connected with five other women who were equally influenced by Sheryl. We started Lean2Lead Pune which initially was a group of women with will to succeed in their careers. Today it's a massive community of 400+ ambitious humans from various age groups and genders. We conduct monthly meets wherein a speaker guides the community with their experiences and advice. I'm proud to be the youngest founding member at Lean2Lead Pune and this platform has helped me to be a better version of me.

TEDxOregonStateU 2020

Curator

January 2020 - Present

Oregon State University is conducting a brand new TEDx event in May 2020. With a team of four curators, including me, we determine a list of potential speakers from a bunch of applications, confirm the speaker line-up, design a timeline for speakers to write and practice their speech outlines, craft their speeches as per our ideas. The theme for the year 2020 is Roaring 20's and it's truly amazing to have a diverse range of topics.
